 Volunteer abroad Programs 

 

The programs available are for English speaking individuals who are 18 years and older. There are no educational requirements but some programs need some academic qualifications like working in a clinic. We have flexible programs where you can pick how many hours you want to work in a day. Our program durations are between one week and three months. We also offer customized programs where you choose how you will work and the best times for you.

Our programs start on the first and third Monday of the month. The arrival dates are on the first and third Sunday of the month.

 

The programs that we offer include the following:

 

Teaching

 

Volunteers will teach public schools, orphanages and community schools. Schools are in demand for teachers and the students are willing to learn this gives you a chance to impact the life of a young child. The volunteer will be involved in teaching English, Math, Science social Studies and physical education.

HIV/AIDS

This disease has affected everyone in the planet. Everyone is a victim in one way or another. As a volunteer you will be asked to help in the outreach programs to help educate the local people and create awareness about HIV/AIDS. Supporting the infected and affected will be done through provision of food and medical supplies. You will be counseling them, encourage and help empower them

Caring for people with disabilities

80% of the disabled say they are experiencing segregation, isolation, and lack of support for their needs. More than one-third reported that their own families had committed abuse or violence on them, and more than 45 percent said their families did not allow them to participate in family activities on the same basis as other family members.

Orphanage  Work

 

Children who are young are normally impressionable. Anything done to them while they are young will be with them for the rest of their lives. If you like kids and want to change their lives for the better then working in an orphanage is the best place. The kids are active and love the attention they get from the volunteers

Medical placements  

Medical attention is not easy to access in certain areas like in Kibera (the largest slum in Kenya). The cost of health care for the poor is high.  There are many clinics and volunteer organizations in such areas that offer medical help to the poor.

 We work with organizations that provide a number of services to the local community. Our volunteers have the unique opportunity to become involved in a number of activities on a daily basis, including education, empowerment, construction, and vocational training.

Maasai volunteer program

This program is only offered in Kenya where the volunteers will be placed in a Maasai village and will be working with the Maasai people. The Maasai are a semi nomadic people, and are most known African tribe. They are known through their distinct dressing and culture which haven’t changed from time immemorial.

Learn Spanish

 

This volunteer program is in Ecuador. Puka Inti Spanish school is an institution created to offer personalized instruction in the learning of Spanish as a Second Language. Our fabulous teachers and our warm, family-like atmosphere make it a school like no other. We offer one-on-one classes as well as group classes for friends and families that wants to study together

Conservation volunteer program

The conservation project is run by a family in the high parts of San Cristobal and contains of 7 hectares. The aim of the project is to clean the land from introduce species like Mora and Elephant grass so that it will only be native species and it is something that needs to be done constantly, little by little.

Journalism volunteer program

Participants may volunteer with newspapers and magazines publications, photography, film production or media-based awareness projects. Activities include language editing. They are published widely over Ecuador and one of its stronger sides is that they normally have a good mix with local and provincial news as well as national and international news. The volunteer program is also available in Ghana where the volunteer will work with well known newspapers and magazines.

Sports Coach

Volunteers will work together with the coach and the assisting coaches to teach the children to be better players and to have fun at the same time. They will also help the coaches to prepare the kids for competitions. Apart from soccer or football the participant volunteers will teach basketball, baseball, volleyball, swimming and a variety of other sports to local talents at schools and communities.

Social and Psychology work program

The social workers and psychologists normally work very close as they both have an active role in the work with the children and their families. It is very common that these families and children have problems with abuse, alcoholism, drugs etc and at the same time they are low income workers that lack of high education which means that they have no possibility to seek help of private doctors or hospitals and at the same time the security net in Ecuador is often non existing and here is where this project and similar comes in to help.

Agriculture program

 

In the fields the indigenous have many different crops but most common is for example potatoes, corn, beans, vegetables, cereals and grains. The crops are a good help for the families to make sure they always have something to eat and if they have more than they need they can also sell or trade for money or other products that they need.

Volunteer in an animal centre in Ecuador

The center constantly changes (keeps growing or improving) and animals come and go and little by little they get the materials, time and money to extend and improve for example cages and toys for the animals and some animals get relocated to other centers with a climate that suits the animals better or they even get placed back in the wild.

Wild life conservation projects in Kenya

The Conservancy is a not-for-profit organization situated in Kenya’s Laikipia district adjacent to Nanyuki town. The Conservancy is East Africa’s Largest Black Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees and holds some of the highest predator densities in Kenya. It is a mosaic of grass plains, wooded grassland, Acacia woodland and evergreen thicket extending for over 350 square kilometers. It boasts an astounding variety of animals including the endangered black and white rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo & lion.
